CARTER CAVES

STATE RESORT PARK

Saturday and Sunday — Easter Weekend. The park will have family oriented programs throughout the weekend, including a Smokey Lake Canoe Trip, Tye Dye t-shirts and Saturday evening entertainment. On Easter day they will serve an Easter buffet. The annual Easter egg hunt with over 1,000 eggs for children age 12 and younger. Tours of Cascade and X-Cave will be on a regular schedule.

April 14 — Kentucky Backcountry Series will present the Tygarts Creek Regretta. This is a 6-mile canoe excursion down a beautiful gorge cut out by Tygart’s Creek. Canoe experience is required.

Required equipment: warm clothes, extra change of clothing, packed lunch, bottled water, flashlight and bag for your equipment.

Optional equipment: sunscreen, camera and sunglasses.
