March 23 and 24, 8 p.m. — The Charleston Ballet will wind up its TriplePlay season with “Play Ball!”

The baseball theme ballet, choreographed by former New York City Ballet principal dancer Christopher Fleming, takes place just after World War II. A romping “9-inning” ballet pits the women’s team against the men’s squad. The dancers become baseball players executing pirouettes and chewing gum at the same time.

JOE RIGSBY FAMILY BENEFIT SHOW

March 24, 6 p.m. — There will be a benefit concert at Blaine Elementary School in Blaine for the family of the late Joe Rigsby, who was killed in a recent car accident. The proceeds will be donated to his family to help with funeral expenses. Admission is $15.
