Jan. 12 and 13 — The 19th annual Tri-State Original Toughman Contest.

Fighters’ registrations are now being accepted for the event that is a single elimination boxing tournament, open to area men and women, age 18 to 39, with no pro fights and limited amateur experience. All bouts are scheduled for three one-minute rounds, with all fighters wearing 16-ounce gloves, protective headgear and a mouth piece.

All applicants must be in good physical condition. The men’s weight divisions are middleweight (140-159), light heavyweight (160-184) and heavyweight (185-400). The women’s weight divisions are lightweight (155 and lighter) and heavyweight (156 and heavier). There is no entry fee.

CADILLAC RANCH, formerly

HIGHWAY 140 MUSIC HALL

The Cadillac Ranch and The Highway 140 Music Hall have merged and, under joint management, have opened The Cadillac Ranch Highway 140 Music Hall on Route 104 in Lucasville, Ohio.

Thursdays will feature The Highway 140 Country Band.

Fridays will feature variety dance and karaoke.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Performances will be from 7 to 10 p.m.

No smoking or alcohol permitted. Admission is $6 for all ages.



CINCINNATI PLAYHOUSE

Two critically acclaimed limited-run productions have been added to the season schedule. “Low” and “The Catholic Girl’s Guide to Losing Your Virginity” will be presented Jan. 10 to14 and Jan. 17 to 20, respectively, in the Playhouse’s Thompson Shelterhouse Theatre.

Tickets to either show will be $30.

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park examines the true meaning of freedom in January with Carlyle Brown’s critically acclaimed new play, “Pure Confidence.” The show begins public reviews on Jan. 16 and continues through Feb. 16.

Tickets range from $37.50 to $50.50, depending on day and seat location. All tickets are $34.50 for the preview performances at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16 and 17. The official opening night is 8 p.m. Jan. 18.

COLLINS COUNTRY CLUB
