ASHLAND YOUTH BALLET

The group will present “The Nutcracker” on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Paramount Arts Center.

OF THE TRI-STATE

Dec. 12, 7 p.m. — Christmas with Brass. This event will include special guests, the Greater Huntington Symphonic Band. A $5 donation will be collected at the door. Ashland Community and Technical College, 1400 College Drive, Ashland, will host the concert.

Tickets are also available from band members.

The photographer will be signing his newest book on Dec. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. at CoffeeTree Books.

James Archambeault’s “Historic Kentucky,” the fourth in his series of book-length photographic essays, preserves the landscapes, building and sights of old Kentucky as many of them fall into neglect, become irreversibly altered or disappear entirely.

In addition to his text on the early settlement of Kentucky, Archambeault’s captions explain the historical and cultural significance of more than 100 full-color photographs.
