Linville George Browning Jr. 1946-2012

ASHLAND — Linville George Browning Jr., 66, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at his residence.

He was born March 2, 1946, in Man, W.Va., a son of the late Linville G. Browning Sr. and Mabel Mae Perry Browning.

Linville retired after many years of service from the Sunoco Plant in Haverhill. He was a Christian, a member of American Legion Kenova Post 93, an avid sports fan and coached the Ashland National Little League for several years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who proudly served during the Vietnam era.

Survivors include three sons, Jeff Browning, John Browning and James Browning, all of Ashland; their mother, Sara Jo Browning of Ashland; a brother, Brian (Leslie) Browning of Meter, Ga.; sisters Marie Potter of South Shore, Brenda (Bob) Delaney of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Dreama (Dave) Damron of Pedro; and a grandson, Brett Browning of Ashland.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home Central-Avenue Chapel by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Kenova Post 93.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
