ASHLAND — Lucy Gamble Kazee Bryant, 91, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, following a sudden illness.

Lucy was born Jan. 22, 1921, in Magoffin County, a daughter of the late Elijah and Huldia Howard Gamble.  

She retired as a cook from the Ashland Area Vocational School, and she was a former member of the Ashland Chapter of VFW.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Bryant; a son, Frederick Eugene Gussler; a daughter, Liddie Wright Maggard and two brothers, Jim Gamble and Raleigh Gamble.

 Survivors include, two daughters, Darlene Gussler Norris and her husband, Bart, of Ashland and Lillian Brown and her husband, George, of Ashland; a son-in-law, Frank Maggard of Ashland; five grandchildren Teresa Maggard Williams, Deitra Brown Hulett, Kim Brown Brunty, Angie Gussler Reihs and Joe Maynard III; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at noon Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, by Pastor Carl Howard at Flat Fork Freewill Baptist Church in Salyersville. Burial will follow in Howard Cemetery in Salyersville.  

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood and one hour prior to  services Monday at the church.
