Elisha Stevens Jr. - 1932-2013

ASHLAND — Elisha Stevens Jr., 80, husband of Bernice Boggs Stevens of Ashland, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Elisha was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Elliott County, a son of the late Elisha Sr. and Emmilie Edwards Stevens.

Elisha was a retired truck driver with Stevens Trucking Company and a member of Tunnel Hill Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Elisha was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Bernice Boggs Stevens of Ashland; two brothers, Robert Stevens of Columbus, Ohio, and John “Jake” Stevens and his wife, Melba, of Webbville; one sister, Faye Rucker and her husband, Jeff, of Boaz, Ala.; and a host of extended family and friends.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Caniff Funeral Home by the Rev. Bill Oaks. Burial will follow in Yatesville Cemetery in Lawrence County, Ky.  

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
