Willie Ellis Barnett, 82, of Oldtown, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Barnett was born Sept. 5, 1930, in Argillite, a son of the late J. William Barnett and Rhoda Jane Carver Barnett Manuel.
He was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was an automobile body repairman and farmer.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wesley Barnett, Charles Manuel and Donald Manuel; five sisters, Angeline McCoy, Josey Adams, Susie Johnson, Mae Lucas and Mary “Cleo” Caudill; and one grandson, James Adams Jr.
He survived by his wife of 63 years, Geraldine Caudill Barnett; two sons, Willie Edward “Eddie” (Missy) Barnett of Oldtown and Carl Wayne (Denise) Barnett of Greenup; three daughters, Glenda Barnett of Greenup, Stella Louonia Barnett of Haleyville, Ala., and Belinda Vay (Stanley) Sargent of Oldtown; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Chris Bellew. Burial will be in the Barnett-Crump Cemetery in Argillite.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
