Homer Lewis 1936-2012

GRAYSON — Homer Lewis, 76, of Grayson, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

He was born July 2, 1936, a son of the late Martin and Beatrice Smith Lewis.

Homer attended Wilson Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was Carter County road foreman for 34 years.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Lewis and Martin Lewis Jr.; and two sisters, Kathleen Mullins and Chloanna Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Garnet Davis Lewis of Grayson; a son, Douglas (Nancy) Lewis of Ashland; a daughter, Teresa (Robert) Kiskaden of Richmond; four sisters, Ruth Stamper of Carter City, Betty Frazier of Boyd County, Mary Zornes of Dayton, Ohio, and Juanita Frazier of Raceland; three grandsons, Tyler, Travis and Jake Lewis; a great-granddaughter, Tegan Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by Joed Rice. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at the funeral home.
