Alan “Buddha” Carver, 44, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Greenup County, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, in Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Fla.
He was born Oct. 3, 1968, a son of Les and Sue Smith Carver of Greenup.
Alan was employed as a cast member of Walt Disney World of Orlando. He was previously employed as manager of Light Logistics Inc. of Ironton, Ohio, and the Flatwoods Police Department.
He was a volunteer for the Ashland Band Boosters, Festival of Trees and Flatwoods Volunteer Fire Department, and was a driver for the Gospel River Boys of Ironton and the Ashland high school band. He was always eager to volunteer his time when asked. He was an avid bowler and loved photography. His passion was to spread a little magic and bring laughter to most anyone he met.
Alan is survived by his wife, Susan Bellomy Carver of Orlando; his son, Casey (Tebra) Carver of Pineville; his son, Russell (Tia) Thirion of Ashland; his daughter, Judy Renea Carver of Ashland; a sister, Kim (Steve) Ausmus of Raceland; a brother, Stephen (Amanda) Carver of Flatwoods; two nephews, Levi and Loch Ausmus of Raceland; and his uncle and aunt, Tom and Jenny Carver.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Jim Webster. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Ausmus, Stephen Carver, Randy Calloway, Kristoffer Calloway, Russ Thirion and Casey Carver.
