Roberta Bayes Perdue, 84, of Ashland, died peacefully at her residence, Wednesday, July 3, 2013, with her loving family at her bedside, following an extended illness.
Roberta was born May 24, 1929, at Greenup County, a daughter of the late Melvin and Esther Picklesimer Sturgill. She was a homemaker and former care giver and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cannonsburg.
Surviving include her husband, Walter Perdue; three sons, Matthew Timothy Bayes (Bobbie Reffitt) of Ashland, Charles Joseph Bayes (Lora) of Ashland and Dwayne Gregory Bayes of Ashland; two brothers, Paul Sturgill of Grayson and Melvin Sturgill of Murray; and a sister, Jane Pennington of California; six grandchildren, Angela Nichole Bayes, Whitney Jo Bayes, Stacy Reffitt, Chris Reffitt, Stephanie Stidham and Justin Stidham; eight great-grandchildren, Joseph Jaden Bayes, Jeanna Lee Bayes, Logan Burns, Matt Burns, Bradley Reffitt, Natalie Reffitt, Kairi Stidham and Kadence Stidham.
Graveside services for Roberta will be Saturday, July 6, 2013, at noon at the Kirby Flats Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
