GREENUP — Jack C. Grubb, 88, of South Shore, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, in South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Harry and Virgie Overby Grubb. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a retired supervisor from ACF Industries.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Alma Hamilton, and a brother, John William Grubb.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Dolores Owens Grubb; a daughter, Jacquie (Edgar) Ferguson of Huntington; a son, Charles (Sherry) Grubb of South Shore; three grandchildren, Laura Ferguson of Huntington, Jeremy Grubb of South Shore and Rebecca (Philip) Konopka of Vanceburg; three brothers, James (Glema) Grubb and Samuel Grubb, both of Cannonsburg, and Tommy Grubb of Jonesboro, Ark.; and three sisters, Lucille Neel, Maxine Smith and Lydia (Paul) Winters, all of Huntington.

Funeral services will be at noon Friday, July 5, 2013, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore by David Boggs. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County, with military graveside services by Kenova American Legion Post 93.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday July 5, 2013, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Maloneton Volunteer Fire Department.
