ASHLAND — Geneva Pearl Clinger, 71, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Geneva was born Sept. 12, 1942, in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Berlin and Garnet Opal Lambert Black.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Joe Daniels, and a sister, Shirlene Black.

Geneva was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and worked at the Ashland YMCA for many years. Most of all, Geneva was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Survivors include her loving husband, Bill Clinger of Ashland; a son, William H. Daniels Jr. and wife Becky of Knoxville, Tenn.; a brother, Berlin Black Jr. of Clearfield; sisters Darlene Spence and Joyce Caskey, both of Clearfield, Edith Mabry of Dayton, Ohio, and Mary Effersbee of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandchildren Madison Elise Daniels and EmmaLee Parker Daniels, both of Knoxville; a stepson and stepdaughter, Stephen Todd Clinger and Amy René Clinger, both of Ashland; and stepgrandchildren Merrick Clinger and Channing William Clinger.

A celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at South Ashland United Methodist Church. Her son, William Daniels, will deliver words of comfort to those in attendance. Her wish was to be buried in the family cemetery at Clearfield. This will be done at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.
