James Robert “Jim” McGinnis, 60, of Flatwoods, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, in Load.
He was born in Ironton, Ohio, on Jan. 17, 1953, a son of Ralph Darnell and the late Janet McGinnis Godley.
He was a welder and fabricator for Evans Welding in Kenova, W.Va.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Robert McGinnis, in 1991; and his grandparents, Robert and Bernice McGinnis, who adopted and raised him.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Joyce Frazier McGinnis; two daughters, Angela Dawn McGinnis of Flatwoods and Rita Diane Craft and her husband, Shawn, of Columbus, Ohio; a son, David McGinnis and his wife, Angie, of Kitts Hill, Ohio; a brother, Lester Godley of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Adele Evans of Cincinnati; and three grandchildren, Jacob Robert McGinnis, Lily McGinnis and T.J. McGinnis.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother John Callihan. Burial will be in McGinnis Cemetery at Load.
