George N. Brown

ASHLAND — George N. Brown, 76, of Ashland, died Saturday in King’s Daughters Medical Center following a battle with cancer.

In addition to his parents, John Brown and Niza Brown, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Brown and James Brown.

George was a manager for Bonded Service Station as well as Rich Oil for many years and an employee of Daniels Bakery and various other businesses in Ashland. He was also a member of the Eagles. He was a devoted father who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was known for his work ethic and love of his family and having a big heart.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lillian Wright Brown; and two daughters, Deitra Brown (Jimmy) Hullett and Kim Brown (Rob) Brunty; a sister, Dottie (Bob) Winters; a brother, Don (Dora) Brown; four grandchildren, Corde Earl, Sydney Earl, Ron Cyrus II and Savannah Brunty; and 14 nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Phil Fannin. Interment will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call after noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
