Wanda Jean Colley - 1932-2013

PORTSMOUTH — Wanda Jean Garthee-Colley, 81, of Portsmouth, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, in the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.

Wanda was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Greenup, to the late Clyde and Opal Sturgill-Garthee. She was a member of the Greenup First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Colley had a passion for painting and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Greenup County Homemakers and the Greenup County Women’s Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Colley, in 1989; her brother, Jack Garthee; and two great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind a loving and devoted family, including two sons, James Gray Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Bobby Gray of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Geraldine Townsend of Nicholasville; and one brother, Danny Bill Garthee of Nicholasville; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, with Dr. Tommy Melvin officiating. Burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
