CATLETTSBURG — Maxie G. Keeton, 74, of Catlettsburg, now reunited with his wife, Janet, was called home on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, in Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Mr. Keeton was born Nov. 23, 1938, in Catlettsburg, son of the late Boyd Keeton and Eunice Snodgrass Keeton.  His wife of 50 years, Janet Keeton, preceded him in death on July 3, 2011. Max was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Keeton, Arthur Keeton and Bobby Keeton; and his sister, Virginia Rose.

Maxie retired after 34 years with Armco Steel. In addition to loving his family, Max also enjoyed wood working and bluegrass music.

Surviving are his children, Jeff Keeton of Maryville, Tenn., and Paula Keeton of Catlettsburg; and one sister, Alice and her husband, Ronald Thompson, of Lancaster, Ohio.  Funeral services for Mr. Keeton will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg. Pastor Harold Moore will officiate. Final resting place will be in  Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.  

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 24, 2013, and after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
