Susan Perry Carter - 1948-2013

GRAYSON — Susan Perry Carter, 65, of Grayson, formerly of Russell, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at her home.  

She was born April 29, 1948, to the late Ruth Millis Perry Vallance and Charles Perry. She was also preceded in death by her baby sister, Carole Perry Short, and several other loved ones.

Susan was a 1966 graduate of Russell High School and attended Ashland Community College. She worked for National City Bank (formerly Third National) for 40 years and retired as a vice president. Her favorite thing besides her family was watching University of Kentucky basketball. She was and always will be a beloved wife, a loving mother and grandmother and a treasured friend.

Susan is survived by her husband of 40 years, Samuel Terry Carter of Grayson; a sister, Nancy Perry of Ashland; two daughters, Teressa and Shawn Frazier of Roanoke, Va., and Laura and Scott Broughton of Ashland; a son, David and Melissa Carter of Grayson; three granddaughters, Haleigh, Taylor and Abby; four grandsons, Eric, Gavin, Alex and Ryan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Joed Rice.  

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
