Betty Jean Sturm Noe Masters 1923-2014

CATLETTSBURG — Betty Jean Sturm Noe Masters, 90, of Catlettsburg, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2014, in Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Masters was born Nov. 30, 1923, in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Roy and Muriel Phillips Sturm. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Henry Noe Jr. and Robert M. Masters; her son, Henry Lee Noe; and brothers Roy Sturm Jr., Robert Sturm and Charles Evans Sturm.

Betty worked in the shipyards in Evansville, Ind., as a welder’s helper during World War II. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She always kept candy for her great-great-grandson, Kaden. Betty was a Sunday school teacher who knew her Bible frontwards and backwards and attended 13th Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping.

Surviving are three grandsons, Steve Noe of Morehead, Mark Noe of Catlettsburg and his daughter, Laura, and her sons, Kaden and Thomas, and Robert Noe of Ashland; his daughter, Anna; a nephew, Mike Sturm of Ashland; and a sister-in-law, Helen Jean Sturm of Ashland.

Services to honor Mrs. Master will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg by Pastor Bob Patton. Burial will be in Catlettsburg Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
