Dora Mae Archer Starbuck, 84, of Ashland, passed away Sunday evening, March 23, 2014, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born April 1, 1929, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Howard C. and Ettie Mae Ferguson Archer.
Dora attended Grace United Methodist Church in Raceland and worked for many years in shipping and quality control at Anchor Hocking Glassware. She loved quilting, crafting, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Cecil Vern Starbuck; a brother, Corbie Archer; and a sister, Barbara Alice Archer.
Dora is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Wayne and Kathy Starbuck of Ashland; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Roy and Lucille Archer of Haldeman, Robert “Bob” Archer of Trotwood, Ohio, and Willie Archer of Olive Hill; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joyce and J.R. Adkins of Ashland and Gale Owens of Olive Hill; a brother-in-law, Glen Starbuck and wife Esther of Richmond, Ind.; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Wright of Zionsville, Ind. She also leaves her special quilting-buddy friends in Georgia and Kentucky, along with many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 W. U.S. 60 in Olive Hill, by Brother Bob Sweeney. Burial will be in Olive Hill Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, and until services Thursday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
