Wayne King, 74, of Louisa, went to be with his Lord at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013, in the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky., surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne was born May 8, 1939, in Decatur, Ill., the son of the late Cedric and Lola Prince King.
He was a former employee of BG Products in Fairfield, Ohio, and was a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force. He attended Catalpa Freewill Baptist Church.
Wayne was also preceded in death by brothers Cedric Jr., Charles and Darrell and a sister, Elouise.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patty Pratt King; a daughter, Sheri (Floyd) Mount of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Michael Wayne (Cara) King of Spring, Texas; granddaughters Kristin Bird of Columbus and Brynn and Camryn King, both of Spring; sisters-in-law Louise King of Decatur, Dorothy Rose of Radnor, W.Va., Betty Jo Hollis of Huntington, W.Va., and Lois V. Cremeans of St. Albans, W.Va; brothers-in-law Ralph Pratt of Huntington and Don (Judy) Pratt of Mansfield, Ohio; 25 nieces and nephews; 44 great-nieces and great-nephews; 42 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and many, many church family and friends.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today, July 31 at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa by Brother Mike Cox and Brother Todd Webb. Burial will be in Pratt Cemetery in Genoa, W.Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland or the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington.
