ASHLAND — Susan Rae Hemlepp Hall, 58, of Ashland, left her Earthly residence and became a member of the heavenly choir on May 19, 2013.  

She was born Nov. 27, 1954, in Ashland, to the late P.D. and Sara M. “Sally” Lambert Hemlepp. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Davis.  

Susan was a registered nurse and formerly employed at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was a member of Garner Missionary Baptist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting and spending time with her family. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing.  

She is survived by a son, Kevin (Tammy) Hall; daughters Lori Royster and husband Josh and Kelli Battle, all of Ashland; brothers Pat Hemlepp and wife Julie of Columbus, Ohio, and John Hemlepp and wife Heidi of Versailles; seven grandchildren; a special niece, Emily Steele, who helped care for her, and Emily’s husband, Brad; and many other nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Gary Arrington. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
