Clyde Leroy “C.L.” Clark - 1923-2013

ASHLAND — Clyde Leroy “C.L.” Clark, 89, of Ashland, passed away in Community Hospice Care Center on April 29, 2013.

He was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Boyd County, to the late Clyde Elmer and Reva J. Collins Clark.  

He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jane Kitchen Clark, in 1999; and his son, Richard Dameron Clark, in 1993.

He was a 1942 graduate of Ashland High School. Clyde was a partner at W.B. Fosson & Sons and was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 76 and the VFW. He was a member of Carpenters Local 472 for 65 years and recently was honored for being one of its oldest members. He was a lifelong member of Unity Baptist Church.  

He is survived by his daughter, Leighanne Clark Daniel, and her husband, Keith, of Richmond; grandsons Andrew Clark Daniel of Lexington and Michael Christian Daniel of Richmond; and his dog and longtime companion, Pepper.  

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Pastor David Lynch. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.  

Friends may call after 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions in his memory to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
