June Barker Bowling, age 76, of Sandy Hook, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 25, 2013, at her residence.
She was born June 1, 1937, in Elliott County, a daughter of the late Willie Rufus and Daisy Dell Fannin Barker.
June was a homemaker, of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyd Bowling; one son, Rick Barker; one brother and sister-in-law, Carmel and Virginia Barker.
She is survived by her companion of 34 years, Vernon Perry; three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel Ray and Stephanie Bowling of Sandy Hook, Tony and Edna Perry of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Ronny and Pina Perry of Sandy Hook; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Donnis Lynn and David Fugett of Sandy Hook and Pamela Rena Bowling and Bob Moore of Sandy Hook; seven grandchildren, Stacy and Matthew Johnson, Tonia Mayse, Joseph and Ashley Bowling, Jonathan Moore, Bethany and Justin Lyons, Danielle Bowling and LaShea Fugett; and four great-grandchildren, Haley Foreman, Coleton Johnson, Jesse Lyons and Alexis Sexton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, in the Chapel of Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, with Brother Jason Ison officiating. Burial will be in the Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook.
Friends may visit after 5 p.m. today, Oct. 27, 2013, and from 9 a.m. until the service hour on Monday at the funeral home.
Hirshel Ray Bowling, Ronny Perry, Bob Moore, Jeff Fraley, Jonathan Moore, David Fugett and Joseph Bowling will serve as pallbearers.
Daniel Ray Bowling, Donnis Fugett, Pamela Bowling, Louise Stapleton, Linda Rowe, Madeline Adkins and Vickie Weddington Whitt will serve as honorary pallbearers.
