ASHLAND — Carl Lee Killin, 82, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Ironton, Ohio, the son of the late Ernest and Margaret Wilson Killin.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, John David Killin, and a sister, Ernestine Rockwell.

He was a retired employee of AK Steel, where he was a crane operator for 38 years. He attended Meade Station Church of God and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 76 in Ashland.

Survivors include a son, Michael Killin and wife Valerie of Houston; a daughter, Melinda Gregory and husband Tim of Russell; and a granddaughter, Melissa Cyrus of Flatwoods.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Robert Jordan. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park, with military rites by the U.S. Air Force and Kenova American Legion Post 93.
