Nancy Lynn Ellis Ball

CATLETTSBURG — Nancy Lynn Ellis Ball, 63, of Catlettsburg, went home to be with the Lord after a long illness.

Nancy was a devout Christian and taught Sunday school for many years at Meade Station Church of God. She was the daughter of the late James Clifford Ellis of Ashland and Rosemary Ellis, now residing in Wetumpka, Ala.

Nancy is survived by Larry Keith Ball, her husband of 46 years, who was her devoted companion and caregiver. Also surviving are two daughters and six grandchildren: Sheree Denise Griffith (Damon) of Catlettsburg and their children, Heather Alyss, Ryan Thomas, Aaron Mackenzie and Sophie Marie; and her second daughter, Melanie Ann Bradley of Catlettsburg and her sons, Austin Michael and Logan Keith.

Nancy is also survived by two sisters, Linda Sue Maxwell (Frank) of Grier, S.C., and Sally Ann Wagner (Roy) of Wetumpka; a brother, Gerald Lee Ellis (Sharon) of Raceland; many extended family members and her special church family at Meade Station.

Nancy graduated from Boyd County High School and the King’s Daughters Hospital School of Radiology. She worked for a short time as a radiology tech at Lawrence County General Hospital before becoming a full-time homemaker.

Nancy’s joy was serving God, loving her family, reading and travel. She and Larry had traveled extensively over the years, visiting many countries.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Meade Station Church of God, 1315 Marsh Hill Drive, Ashland. Beloved Pastor Robert Jordan will celebrate Nancy’s life and assist family and friends in saying farewell to Nancy.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. A committal service will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.

Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family are requested to make donations to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
