Opal Cole Kretzer 1926-2013

ASHLAND — Opal Cole Kretzer, 86, of Westwood, passed away Friday morning in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland following an extended illness.  

She was born June 13, 1926, in Bluefield, Ind., a daughter of the late Floyd and Mamie Boone Cole.  

Opal was a homemaker and member of Oak Springs United Baptist Church. She was quite the seamstress and enjoyed making draperies and coverings.  

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Kretzer, in 1995; two brothers, Wayne and Edward Cole; and two sisters, Margaret Brewer and Shirley Main.  

Opal is survived by three loving daughters, Sharon J. Pristas and husband Phil of Cincinnati, Sheila M. Rhodes and husband Bill of Westwood and Amanda Jervis and husband John of Westwood; seven grandchildren, Phillip Pristas, Kim Knight, James Pristas, Brandon Rhodes, Will Jervis, Shon Jervis and George Jervis; and six great-grandchildren, Brook, Katlynn, Samantha, Hannah, Hailee and Alex.  

Funeral services will be at noon Monday, March 4, 2013, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Brother Dale Barber and Brother Jerry Brewer. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point, Ohio.  

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral Home.
