GRAYSON — Imogene Cartee McGuire, 83, of Grayson, died Friday, July 19, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.  

She was born June 30, 1930, in Carter City, a daughter of the late Van Virgil and Alma Patton Cartee.  

She was a secretary for East Carter High School for 20 years and a member of the First Church of Christ in Grayson.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne McGuire; and a sister, Katy Jenkins.  

Imogene shared Wayne’s passion for car racing.  She was always cheering Wayne and Ole No. 41 on.

Imogene is survived by her daughter, Ann (Steve) Womack of Grayson; a son, Wayne McGuire Jr. of Grayson; four grandchildren, Drew McGuire and Shelbi McGuire, both of Grayson, Mikki (Aaron) Eldridge of Grayson and Lynsey (Josh) Denney of Lexington; and two great-grandchildren, Schuyler and Annabelle Denney.

The funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at the funeral home.
