ASHLAND — Faye Pelfrey Fannin, 89, of Ashland, wife of Bill Fannin, died peacefully Sunday evening in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Faye was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Olive Hill, a daughter of the late Riley F. and Flo Gooden Pelfrey.

She was a faithful member of South Ashland United Methodist Church and was a former employee of the Dairy Cheer in Ashland.

Faye was also preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Thompson; two sons, Roger Fred Thompson and Richard L. Thompson; two granddaughters, Leslie Scott and Valori Scott; a half-brother, Don Pelfrey; and two brothers, Warren and Jack Pelfrey.

Surviving, in addition to her loving husband, Bill, are two daughters, Peggy (husband Richard Scott) of Woodstock, Ga., and Darla J. Goodall of Barboursville, W.Va.; a half-sister, Norma Shackleford of Ohio; three half-brothers, Jim Pelfrey of Ohio and Dale Pelfrey and Barry Pelfrey of Florida; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson, whom she loved dearly.  

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Bill Hammond (brother-in-law) and Pastor Lance Campbell.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County.
