Annie L. Larrabee, 88, of Ashland, formerly of Tupelo, Miss., passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born March 8, 1924, in Ellsworth, Maine, a daughter of the late Foster P. and Eva Wescott Harrington.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Tupelo, where she was an active volunteer. After moving to Ashland, she enjoyed attending New Buckley Road Freewill Baptist Church with her friends and neighbors. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Winter Harbor, Maine, and was a very talented seamstress, craftsperson and cook. Annie worked for many years as a LPN and helped many patients in New York City, Biddeford, Maine, Kirksville and Missouri where she cared for her sister-in-law until her passing.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Everett Johnson and his wife, Penelope, of Ashland; daughter, Rosemary West and her husband, Ernie, of Gouldsboro, Maine; brother, Walter Harrington of Winter Harbor, Maine; sister, Grace Gerrish of Winter Harbor, Maine; grandchildren, Everett Dean Johnson Jr., Lilly Johnson Tibbs, Pamela Gerrish, Teresa Gray, Arthur “Buddy” Hammond and Michelle Hammond; numerous great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Kenneth Ball and Pastor Darrell Clark. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the funeral home.
