Freda Ann Farrow - 1937-2012

ASHLAND — Freda Ann Farrow, 75, of Ashland, went home to be with her Lord, Friday morning, Sept. 21, 2012, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born June 29, 1937, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Frederick and Drusilla Elizabeth Bailey Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alphonso “Fonz” Farrow in 1996.

Freda was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and a lifelong dedicated member of St. James A.M.E. Church where she faithfully served in the following capacities, Steward Board, Trustee Board, Missionary Society, Usher Board and Finance Committee. She retired in 2005 after nearly 39 years as a waitress at Bellefonte Country Club.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Marsha Johnson (Dan) Underwood of Galloway, Ohio; sister, Thelma Johnson (James Jr.) Keeton of Ashland; niece, Lori Keeton (James) Johnson of Lexington; nephews, James E. (Candy) Keeton III of Lexington and Frederick (Charity) Keeton of Nicholasville; great-nieces and great-nephews, Whitney A. and Austin K. Johnson of Lexington and Trajan K. Keeton of Nicholasville. Additional survivors include a host of loving extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at St. James A.M.E. Church in Ashland by the Rev. LaVeeshia Pryor, the Rev. Henry L. Mosley and the Rev. Jack Marbury. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
