GREENUP — Ronald “Joe” DeBord, age 73, of St. Cloud, Fla., formerly of Flatwoods. Following a long illness, Joe left this world from his home on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013. He was surrounded by the people he loved and who loved him.

Joe was born July 4, 1939, in Ashland, to the late James O. and Mildred C. Reffitt DeBord.

He was a retired technician assistant for AK Steel. He was a former member of the American Legion and past president and former coach of the American Amateur Baseball League. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Joey DeBord and David DeBord.

He is survived by his wife, Rheta Barndollar DeBord of St. Cloud; and son, Martin DeBord of St. Cloud; three siblings, James M. (Janet) DeBord of Wamego, Kan., Janice (Calvin) Sexton of Charlotte, N.C., and Fred (Brenda) DeBord of Hico, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Erica, Alexis, Faith, Tanner, Sydney DeBord and Anna and Morgan Kidd.

Joe was loved dearly and will be sadly missed.

Fisk Funeral Home & Crematory in St. Cloud is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service is pending.
