James I. Prince Jr. 1935-2013

ASHLAND — James Irving Prince Jr., 77, formerly of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday.

Born in Ohio, he was the son of the late James Irving Prince Sr. and Norma Prince Herdman.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Prince was an investigator with the U.S. Department of Labor.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sara E. McCain Prince; daughters Cheryl Francis and husband Robert of Ashland, Libby Elliott of Dunn and Lynn Rogers and husband Greg of Angier, N.C.; sons James I. Prince III and wife Kim of Ocala, Fla., and Robert E. Prince and wife Lori of Raleigh, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Raleigh First Church of the Nazarene in Garner, N.C.

Visitation will be after 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner is in charge of arrangements.
