Helen “Dee Dee” Smith Williams 1918-2014

ASHLAND — Helen “Dee Dee” Smith Williams, 96, of Ashland, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday morning, May 4, 2014, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 2, 1918, at Cordell, a daughter of the late Grover C. and Vina Berry Baker Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Asa I. Williams, in 1993; brothers Bozie Baker, Lon Baker, Lannie Baker and Jack Baker; and a sister, Suzanne Fowler.

Helen was a homemaker devoted to her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Gospel Tabernacle.

Surviving are her sons, Thomas Williams and wife Mary and Michael Williams and wife Mary, both of Ashland, Charles Williams and wife Bonnie of Gahana, Ohio, and Ronald Williams of New Albany, Ind.; grandchildren David, Jeff, Stephen, Thomas, Anna, Beth, Phillip, Amy and Jolie; and great-grandchildren Matthew, Lauren, Daniel Lee, Hannah, Jacob, Luke, Haley, Charles, Jesse, Adelynne, Christian, (Mary Roseanna), Justin, Kyle, Heaven and Alex.

A celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg by the Rev. Acy Gibson. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
