Rosa Perry - 1916-2014

OLIVE HILL — Mrs. Rosa Perry, 97, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday evening, April 29, 2014, in Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.

She was born Dec. 14, 1916, at Armstrong, the second child and only daughter of the late Daniel Nelson and Ida Jane Mullins Perry. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dan Perry; a daughter, Joyce Ann Perry Nichols; three brothers, Elliott Perry, John Perry and Simeon Perry; and a son-in-law, Gene Case.

Rosa was a member of First Christian Church of Olive Hill for more than 60 years and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Rosa is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William A. “Bill” and Carolyn Perry and Dan Nelson and Garnet “Von” Perry, all of Olive Hill; three daughters and son-in-law, Idabelle Perry Case of Olive Hill, Willa Jean Perry Shafer and Rollan of Winchester and Phyllis Dee Perry of Florence; a son-in-law, Dennis Ray Nichols of Madison, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other family members, church family and friends who will sadly miss her.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at First Christian Church in Olive Hill by Brother David Gee. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. today, May 2, 2014, and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church at 110 Caleb Powers Lane, Olive Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the First Christian Church of Olive Hill Building Fund, P.O. Box 538, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
