Joyce Ann Keleher - 1937-2014

LEHIGH ACRES, FL — Joyce Ann Keleher, 76, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., formerly of Greenup, died April 7, 2014, in Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres, following an extended battle with cancer.  

Joyce was born September 21, 1937, in Bennett, a daughter of the late Edward L. and Eva Mae Bradley Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David M. Keleher; and an infant son, Kevin M. Keleher.

Joyce was a 1955 graduate of Greenup High School and attended Morehead State University where she was a varsity cheerleader. She was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ and was a member of the Greenup Christian Church.

Prior to her and her husband Dave’s move to Florida ,they lived for more than 30 years in Columbus, Ohio. She was active and accomplished in women’s golf circles in the Columbus area. She was a member of several Ohio women’s golf organizations, winning multiple club, local and state tournaments. She was an avid Ohio State University football fan and loved spending time with her beloved dogs. Joyce was a special friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.   

She is survived by two brothers, Roger (Alice Kay) Johnson of Load and Darwin (Sally) Johnson of Floyds Knobs, Ind.; a special niece, Joetta (Naymon) Campbell of Havana, Fla., and their children, Kenton Colley and Kayla Clifton; and nephews, Kyle and Nick Johnson of Floyds Knob.

A memorial service to honor the lives of Joyce Ann and David Keleher will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Greenup Christian Church by Pastor Mike Dennis.

There will be a one-hour visitation Saturday before the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Greenup Christian Church.

Reed Funeral Home in Greenup is in charge of the arrangements.
