Steven Allen Vanhorn 1957-2013

ASHLAND — Steven Allen Vanhorn, 56, of Ashland, passed away from a sudden illness in the UK Medical Center. He was born Jan. 7, 1957, in King’s Daughters Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Vanhorn.

He is survived by a daughter, Sara B. Wellman; a son-in-law, Luke Jackson McBride; his mother, Patty Maynard; sisters Brenda Webb, Mystre Van Horn, Michele Van Horn Lancaster, Melissa Van Horn Martin and Melanie Van Horn Grubb; his beloved dog, Smokey Joe; and nieces and nephews Stephanie, Kayla, Allee, Travis, Cole, Anissa, Mallory and many more.

Thanks for the love and support from Kathy Hood, Jimma B. Wise and his Ashland Moose family.

He was a huge UK Wildcat fan and a graduate of Boyd County High School. He worked for the Boyd County Road Department, Ashland Oil Inc. and KDMC. He donated bone marrow and saved the life of a man from Germany. He will be missed.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Williams Avenue home he loved. Please come casual with UK attire, if possible. Donations are appreciated.
