Donald G. Dingess 1932-2013

GREENUP — Donald G. Dingess, 81, of Wurtland, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Donald was born March 22, 1932, in Chapmanville, W.Va., to the late Loransey and Grace Conley Dingess.

He was employed by Kenneth Hern as a carpenter for many years. Donald had a recent monumental moment in his life when he was saved on his wife’s birthday, April 8. Donald enjoyed gardening and yard work, but most of all, quality time with his grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Loransey Dingess Jr. and Thomas Dingess.

He leaves behind a loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Betty Conley Dingess of Wurtland; a son, Don (Sara) Dingess of Wurtland; a daughter, Terria Dingess of Wurtland; a sister, Elaine Mullins of Evansville, Ind.; three grandchildren, Hannah (Blake) Fountain, Ethan Dingess and Azriel Dingess; a special niece, Gloria Daniels of Wurtland; and many friends and family who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, May 13, 2013, at the funeral home.
