ASHLAND — Albert Franklin “Hap” Alley, 77, of Ashland, died Friday, May 3, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Hap was born Jan. 20, 1936, in Boyd County, the son of the late Zachary Taylor and Rebecca Brown Alley.

Hap was a retired Captain with the Ashland Fire Department, with 26 years of service. Hap was also a self employed carpenter, and he was a born again Christian and attended Unity Baptist Church.

Hap is survived by his wife, Barbara Kazee Alley; two sons and their wives, Gregory Lee and Rhonda Ward Alley, Stephen F. and Amy Walter Alley, all of Ashland; and four grandsons, Nathan Gregory, Stephen Luke, Wendell Jack and Landon Eli.

In addition to his parents, Hap was proceeded in death by three brothers and six sisters.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel by Dr. Floyd Paris and Dr. Ronnie Mays.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland.
