CARTER — Verna Holbrook Binion, 94, of Mooresburg, Tenn., formerly of Grayson, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 11, 1918, in Elliott County, a daughter of the late Robert and Virgie Reynolds Holbrook.

She was a homemaker and a member of Denton Missionary Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Binion; a grandson, Gregory Jacobs; a great-grandson, Jason Bush; and brothers and sisters Delphie Holbrook, Dorothy Holbrook, Ercel Holbrook, Gobel Holbrook, Gracie Holbrook, Donald Holbrook, Noah Holbrook and Corda Barnes.

Her survivors include four daughters, Esther (Bill) O’Neal and Barbara (John) Keimer, both of Dunnellon, Fla., Linda Sue (Donald) Bush of Grayson and Ernestine “Tina” (James) Guntrum of Mooresburg; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special nieces Yvonne and Brenda Kay.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Pastor Lawrence Felty. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, April 27, 2013, at the funeral home.
