Mark Anthony “Fuzzy” VanBibber 1953-2013

ASHLAND — Mark Anthony “Fuzzy” VanBibber, 59, went to be with his Heavenly father on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Woodland Oaks Health Care Center.  

He was born Aug. 30, 1953, in Portsmouth to the late L.M. VanBibber and Belva Young  Simpson of Franklin Furnace.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Josie Stephens.  

Mark was a member of Central Baptist Church and was attending Oakland Independent Baptist Church. He was owner of Ashland Acoustical and VanBibber Ceilings and Floor. He was a member of Carpenters Local Union 437 for 28 years and National Street Rod Association for 16 years.  

He is survived by his loving  wife of 31 years, Rebecca Arnett VanBibber;  daughter Megan VanBibber, and son Chris VanBibber, all of Ashland;  his mother, Belva Simpson of Franklin Furnace;  mother-in-law, Juanita Stephens of Ashland;  grandson Elijah VanBibber, who was the light of his world, also of Ashland;  grandsons Brice VanBibber of Lubbock, Texas, Kyle VanBibber of Ironton and Cameron VanBibber of Ashland;  granddaughters Kiersten VanBibber of Ironton and Paige VanBibber of Ashland;  sisters Anita (Jeff) Braden and Jana (Brent) Mullholand, both of Greenup; brothers Maurice (Debbie) VanBibber, Ronnie VanBibber and Donnie (Paula)  VanBibber, all of Greenup.

Mark was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Throughout his life, he was a hard working, kind man who was loved by all who knew him. He would give someone the shirt off his back and do without,  just so someone else didn’t have to. He had also been involved in missionary  work in the Philippines. Mark will forever be loved and missed by family and friends.  

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel with  Pastor Mike Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Patrick, Buddy Patrick, Gerald Peace, Bill Booth, Ronnie VanBibber, Donnie Salyers and Chad Braden. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.

At Mark’s request,  in lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the Elijah VanBibber College Fund at Kentucky Farmers Bank, 6313 U.S. 60, Ashland, KY 41102.
