ASHLAND — Bobby Gene Watts, 81, of Ashland, husband of 61 years to Ruth Jean McDowell Watts, died peacefully, Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Bobby was born May 6, 1932, in Holden, W. Va., a son of the late Doc Ellis Watts and the late Fanny Lee Frye Watts.  

He was a member of the 13th Street Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from the Allied AK Coke Plant after 41 years of service.  

Bobby was a member and past master of Rush Lodge 715 F&AM and Apperson Chapter York Rite Bodies. Bobby was also past worthy matron of Rush 546 Order of Eastern Star. He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a son, David Leslie Watts; and a granddaughter, Sherri Ray.

Surviving, in addition to his loving wife, are four sons, Gary Watts of Frankfort, Keith Watts and wife Jill of Ashland, Bobby Watts and wife Mary of Ashland and Billy Watts of Ashland; a sister, Betty Meyers and husband Louis of Excell, Ala.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral services will be at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Bill Smith and Pastor Chuck Ferguson. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.  

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
