Goldie Mae Campbell - 1934-2013

RACELAND — Goldie Mae Campbell, 79, of Raceland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

She was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Greenup County, to the late Albert and Elizabeth Pruitt Boyles. Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her children. She also enjoyed spending time outside, mowing her lawn and keeping a nice clean home.

She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 50-plus years, Claude V. Campbell; two sisters, Helen Craft Boyles and Mary McKenzie; and three brothers, Glen Boyles, Charles Boyles and James Boyles.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Claude (Barbara) Campbell Jr. of Stem, N.C.; a daughter, Verna (Michael) Curnutte of Raceland; brothers Earnest Boyles of Flatwoods and Alvine Boyles of Wurtland; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

There will be no visitation.

Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods has been entrusted to handle final arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
