ASHLAND — Bill Whitlock, 65, of Ashland, loving husband of Theresa Adams Whitlock, died Saturday afternoon in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland following an extended illness.  

Bill was born Sept. 26, 1948, in Ashland, a son of Frances Barnhill Whitlock of Ashland and the late James H. Whitlock.  

He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War at McMurdo and Hallett stations in Antarctica. Bill was a member of Heritage Freewill Baptist Church. He retired as a millwright at Marathon Petroleum. Bill and Theresa were the owners of Whitlock Photography, a lifelong passion they shared.

Also surviving are a son, Jason Hammond and fianceé Ashley Holder of Lexington; a daughter, Natalie Whitlock Stephenson and husband Damon of St. Augustine, Fla.; a grandson, Isaak Stephenson; and two brothers, Marvin and wife Lydia of Cannonsburg and David and wife Judy of Catlettsburg.

Bill’s life was his family and nothing meant more to him on this Earth than the precious times they spent together.

The funeral will be at noon Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Brother Ed Cook. Interment will be in Cribbs Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
