CATLETTSBURG — James Fredrick “Jim” Stiles, 86, of Catlettsburg, passed away from his Earthly home to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, in River’s Bend Health Care Center.

He was born Jan. 13, 1927, in Ashland, and was preceded in death by his father, George Stiles; his mother, Grace Ruth Riggs Stiles; and a sister, Grace Dickerson.

Jim loved the Lord and his family and friends, and adored his precious little doggie, Baby. He also enjoyed reading and traveling and was a great UK basketball fan.

James was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Armco Steel after 41 years of service.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara Friley Stiles; his son, James Kenneth Stiles of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Paula Withers of Richmond; grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg by Pastor Jeff Ferguson. Final rest will be in Catlettsburg Cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post 93 of Kenova.

Visiting hours will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
