Robert Jay Scarberry 1928-2013

LOUISA — Robert Jay “Ick” Scarberry, 84, of Louisa, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, following a brief illness.

Robert was born Dec. 16, 1928, at Charley, the son of the late Jay and Opal Hinkle Scarberry.

He was a retired school bus driver for the Lawrence County Board of Education, a U.S. Army veteran, a Mason and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a brother, James Edward Scarberry of Louisa; a sister, Doris Moore of Galloway, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Fred Hayes of Stoutsville, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Delores Scarberry and Ireda Scarberry; nine nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be in Hinkle-Scarberry Cemetery at Charley.

Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at the funeral home.
