Vic Neyer, 85, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013.
Mrs. Neyer was born Jan. 23, 1928, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Victor and Florence DeLaney.
She moved to Ashland in 1956. She graduated from Floriston-Mather nursing school at Case University in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a dedicated mother of five children and a tireless volunteer at Community Hospice, the Kentucky Highlands Museum, the Paramount Arts Center and Safe Harbor. An avid tennis player, she was instrumental in the development and organization of a WTA professional tennis tournament at the Ashland Tennis Center. She was passionate about family, community and service and leaves behind a legacy of selfless giving to others.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John H. Neyer; and her sisters, Jean Dilgren and Sara DeLaney.
She is survived by her five children, Ann Neyer Beatty (Jeff), John Neyer Jr., Tom Neyer (Denise), Steve Neyer (Debbie) and Megan Neyer; her seven grandchildren, Erica Neyer Kramer, Evan Neyer, Jonathan Neyer, Rachael Beiser, Amanda Neyer, Ray Beatty and Emily Beatty Cox; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 1600 Winchester Ave. in Ashland.
