CATLETTSBURG — Walter Madden, 79, of Catlettsburg, passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 14, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Madden was born July 29, 1934, in Lawrence County, Ohio, a son of the late Ezekiel S. and Agnes Viola Marks Madden.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Thurman Madden, Arnette Madden, Pearl Madden, Franklin Madden and Charles Madden.

Walter retired in 2008 as a landscaper for Highland Farms. He loved to hunt and fish and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Kay Tackett Madden, whom he married April 28, 1978; a brother, Noah Madden (Maylana) of Missouri; sisters Lolie Madden of Ironton, Ohio, Julie Salyers (David) of Raceland and Carolyn Madden (James) of Kitts Hill, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Madden will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg by Pastor Kyle Vanover. The final resting place will be in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery.

Visiting hours will e from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
