Clara Cathleen Day Fannin, 93, of Sandy Hook, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at home.
She was born Dec. 21,1920, in Catlettsburg, the daughter of the late Ollie and Ella Adams Day.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Verdie Fannin; a son, Bobby G. Fannin; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Fannin Adkins; a grandson, Jeffrey A. Fannin; a granddaughter, Vicki Lynn Fannin; sisters and brothers Ruth Cooke, Susie Adkins, Violet Jones, Lucille (Buddy) Morris, Peggy Smedley, Gene Day and Ollie Day; and a special brother-in-law, Woodie Adkins.
Cathleen belonged to Endtime Harvest Church. She was a homemaker, wife and mother.
She is survived by two children, Tracy and wife Libby Fannin of Morehead and Terri and husband Mitch Sturgill of Sandy Hook; 11 grandchildren, Kathy Mason of Acworth, Ga., David Fannin of Flatwoods, Deana Crumbley of Sandy Hook, Phillip Fannin of Russell, Michael Fannin of Olathe, Kan., Nancy Cannon of Stockbridge, Ga., D.J. Roar of Columbus, Ohio, Jeremy Sturgill of Sandy Hook, Heather Howard of Sandy Hook, Brittany Sturgill of Sandy Hook and Jonathan Fannin of Morehead; 21 great-grandchildren, Zachary and Jesse Mason, Caitlyn and Taryn Fannin, Caleb and Tanner Pritehett, Haley Crumbley, Lauren, Brianna and Emily Fannin, Daniel, Drew, Dylan and Ben Cannon, Hannah and Rebekah Roar, Chesla Maggard, Brayden and Ian Sturgill and Bryson and Blake Nickell; five great-great-grandchildren, Shiloh, Aidan, Isacc, Brayden and Brycen Cannon; two brothers, Homer and wife Zelma Day of Norwalk, Ohio, and Carroll and wife Monte Day of Milwaukee, Wis.; and special friends David and Alice Ferguson and Marilyn Weddington.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook by Pastor Phillip Fannin, Pastor David Gifford and Pastor Derek Russell. Burial will be in Fannin Family Cemetery.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David, Phillip, Michael and Jonathan Fannin, Jeremy Sturgill and D.J. Roar. Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Day, Carroll Day and Woodrow Mason.
