Nancy Jane Traylor, 89, of Low Gap Road, in Argillite, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family and friends Friday, April 19, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Argillite.
Mrs. Traylor was born March 24, 1924, in Greenup, a daughter of the late John Bunion and Hannah Ellen Morris Thacker.
She was a member of Raccoon Freewill Baptist Church, she loved to garden and make quilts and rugs. She also babysat her friend’s children, whom she loved.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oakley Traylor; two daughters, Linda Lou Potter and Patricia Traylor Caudill; one son, Ronnie Dean Traylor; one grandson, David Wayne Thacker; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one son, Henry Thacker of South Shore; two daughters, Della (Jeff) Arnett of Wurtland and Ella (Roy) Stiltner of Greenup; one brother, Jack Thacker of Jackson, Ohio; one sister whom she raised, Dorothy Neace of Beaver, Ohio; 15 grandchildren whom she loved; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Raccoon Freewill Baptist Church, Ky. 2 in Greenup, by Pastor Steve Stapleton and Brother Jeffrey Bond. Burial will be in McGuire Cemetery in Greenup.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
